Blake Coppotelli is a senior managing director in the New York office of Kroll’s Business Intelligence and Investigations division, and the head of Kroll’s Real Estate Integrity Services practice. A former prosecutor for 13 years, Blake manages a full range of Kroll’s services, including internal and external corporate fraud investigations, complex due diligence investigations, global asset searches, litigation support, ethics and integrity compliance monitoring and audits, construction monitoring, and fraud detection and prevention for major metropolitan construction projects.

Prior to joining Kroll, Blake was the former chief of the Labor Racketeering Unit and New York State Construction Industry Strike Force in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. Prior to becoming chief, Blake served as a senior investigative counsel advising other Assistant District Attorneys on investigative strategies, legal issues and trial practice.


Professional Experience

  • Integrity Compliance and Monitoring. Blake has served as the independent compliance officer for the largest tobacco stamping agent and distributor in New York State. He has also served as an independent private sector inspector general for the largest demolition and excavation company in New York State and was appointed independent compliance monitor for the facilities department of one of the largest hospitals in New York City.

  • Investigative Excellence. Blake conducted the industry wide investigation into bid rigging within the New York City interior construction industry. The investigation secured the convictions of six top ten general contracting companies and their principals, and the bribery convictions of over 40 architects, designers, project consultants, building managers, and real estate brokers.

  • Anti-Trust Investigation. Blake supervised the racketeering and anti-trust investigation of the Lucchese crime family, including the acting boss, two Lucchese capos, 11 construction companies and numerous union officials for construction related corruption.

  • Government Investigations. Blake supervised the investigation into AFSCME’s District Council 37, which secured felony convictions of more than 25 union officials and nine corporations. He also supervised an investigation of New York State Senator Guy Velella, senior assistant majority leader, Bronx County, for conspiracy to receive bribes for influencing the awarding of public contracts to companies.
