Philip Antoon is managing director and the global practice leader of Kroll’s Valuation Services practice, located in the New York office.

Since 1989, Phil has been assisting clients worldwide in the identification and estimation of the fair value of intangible assets. Phil, specializing in SFAS 141, SFAS 142, IFRS 3 and fresh-start accounting valuation analyses throughout Europe, Asia, and North and Latin America, has performed a wide range of intangible asset valuations, including customer relationships and contracts, patented technology, trademarks and trade names, proprietary know-how, in-process research and development, franchise agreements, communications licenses, mining reserves, backlog, databases, and non-compete agreements, amongst others. Phil also specializes in valuing intellectual property assets for both lending and insurance purposes.

Phil also has expertise in the valuation of common stock, preferred stock, options, and debt, having performed these valuations for tax, financial reporting, fairness and solvency opinions, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, financing, and litigation support purposes for companies across a variety of industries.

Prior to joining Kroll, Phil was a managing director at Duff & Phelps, a nationally recognized investment banking and financial advisory firm. He has also served as a director in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Corporate Value Consulting practice and in the valuation groups of both Ernst & Young and Deloitte & Touche. Phil’s exposure to financial reporting valuations has provided him with a deep understanding of the expectations and procedures of the Securities and Exchange Commission and Financial Accounting Standards Board. He frequently lectures on the valuation implementation of SFAS 141 and SFAS 142 at various professional organizations and academic institutions.


Professional Experience

  • International Financial Reporting Valuation. A multi-billion dollar European and African mobile telecommunications provider looked to Phil to value intangible assets for international reporting purposes.

  • International Financial Reporting Valuation. As advisor to an international cosmetics and fragrances company, Phil conducted a valuation of intangible and fixed assets for international reporting purposes.

  • Equity Valuation. Phil performed a valuation of the equity of a European internet service provider and directories business.

  • International Financial Reporting Valuation. Phil valued and reported the intangible and fixed assets of a Japanese pharmaceutical firm for U.S. and international reporting purposes.
