Integrated Security System Design and Engineering

You would not design a building without an architect, so why would you design a security system without a physical security engineer? Expert security design and implementation is key to preparing your organization for the rapidly changing threats in the global marketplace.

For over 40 years, clients have trusted Kroll to design and engineer their most complex, large-scale integrated security systems. Whether you need to upgrade an existing security system, design a system for new construction, or plan the implementation of a multi-facility enterprise level system, our security design and engineering experts can ensure that your facility is ready to meet myriad security challenges.

Customized, prioritized security design services based on your needs

We begin each project with a needs assessment that enables us to gain a thorough understanding of your business, operations and facilities. It also helps us isolate and identify your security concerns, issues, threats and vulnerabilities. The needs assessment serves as the basis for our recommendations and ultimately results in a security system design that will address your unique security requirements.

Case Study: Security engineering services for a large university, Saudi Arabia

Kroll was retained as part of the design team to provide security engineering services for a university in Saudi Arabia. Our role included the development and documentation of the security design criteria and construction documents for each element of the project, including the administrative, academic, community, and residential facilities.

The 5.5 million-square-foot LEED Platinum new construction project included 2.1 million square feet of lab facilities, accompanied by housing, schools, recreational facilities, retailing and other services to support a community of up to 20,000 people. The project was completed on an accelerated, 30-month start-to-finish schedule driven by the goals of its patron.

Case Study: Security engineering for a government processing center, Missouri

Kroll was retained to provide security engineering services for a government processing center in Missouri. Our responsibilities included full-scope security planning, design, engineering, procurement assistance, and construction administration services.

Design challenges involved providing security to the five-level, 3,800 space, underground parking garage with high-volume traffic flows and limited access points, as well as security zone partitioning to match the facilities flexibility and space utilization requirements, while maintaining the required GSA/ISC security criteria. The new construction project included the integration of a 660,000 square foot addition onto the adaptive reuse of the existing 475,000 square foot historical main post office building on 27.5 acres of land in downtown area of the city.
