A security audit is an essential assessment of how effectively an organization’s security policies are being implemented. Kroll conducts audits of existing security measures in order to identify gaps and vulnerabilities within a client’s systems and procedures.
Security measures are of little use if they are not enforced. Kroll works with clients to establish a balanced and effective security program with which clients can be comfortable and confident. Our security audits can also play an important role in internal investigations when anomalies are discovered or wrongdoing is suspected. Clients can use our findings for not only any potential litigation/legal proceedings, but also to strengthen their internal controls to mitigate future problems.
Case Study: Security assessment and business investigation for a high-end golf manufacturer
Kroll was retained by a global golf manufacturer when the client discovered that their equipment was appearing on the open market before it was officially released for sale. Kroll was requested to visit the site to review the security of the facility so as to identify the vulnerabilities that led to this product leak.
Following a thorough security audit and investigation of the site and its operations, Kroll identified vulnerabilities associated with (1) the manufacturing process and (2) with the facility. Where security gaps were identified, the Kroll team provided a general outline of mitigation measures and physical security solutions which if applied would provide better control of the product and reduce the likelihood of successful theft attempts.
In addition to conducting site visits and security assessments, Kroll’s investigations team was hired to identify any weaknesses in the existing production flow and interviewed specific individuals in the company. As a result, Kroll identified a number of potential loss scenarios that would have significantly increased the chances of loss, theft and damage of the equipment, which the client was able to successfully remedy.
