Javier first joined Kroll (formerly Duff & Phelps), in the London office and later opened the firm’s Madrid office, which now has over 100 employees. Prior to joining the firm in 2006, he was at EY in the firm’s Corporate Finance practice.
Javier has performed valuations of business enterprises, financial assets, equity securities and intangible assets to assist clients in tax and financial planning and reporting, transaction advisory support, strategic planning and litigation support. He has completed over 1,000 valuations for clients in Latin America, Europe, North America, Africa and Asia, in different sectors such as telecom, food and beverage, industrial products, gaming, hospitality, oil and gas and healthcare.
He has published articles on valuation topics such as the impact of IFRS 3 on the financial statements of listed companies and on the implications of IFRS 16 in business valuations.
Javier received a master’s degree in finance from the Escuelas de Finanzas Aplicadas in Madrid and a bachelor’s in economics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He is a member of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) Europe Board and a Chartered Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), qualified in businesses and intangible assets.
