Paul Connolly is a Director in the Cyber Risk practice of Kroll, a division of Duff & Phelps, based in San Francisco. Specializing in cyber forensics and e-discovery, Paul oversees projects that include a full suite of end-to-end digital forensic, e-discovery and data analytics solutions. These include data collection, strategic e-discovery consulting and case management, data breach incident response and forensic investigations of breaches of internet of things (IoT) devices. Paul assists private equity funds and acquiring companies in conducting information technology due diligence investigations of potential acquisition targets, and assists technology companies in developing models to determine the value of software platforms. In addition, he delivers expert testimony on cases involving software disputes, theft of trade secrets and other matters related to intellectual property litigation.
Prior to Duff & Phelps, Paul spent six years as a Staff Attorney for Cleary Gottlieb based in New York, leading teams in document review and federal, state and cross-border regulatory investigations. During this time, he also served in the firm’s Hong Kong office, where he launched a successful e-discovery practice for Cleary focused on LIBOR-related investigations and federal antitrust litigation in Asia.
