Christopher Berry is a Senior Director with Kroll’s Security Risk Management practice, based in the New York office. Over the course of a career spanning more than 20 years, Christopher has led numerous global security engagements that balanced the needs of facility security, asset protection, and personnel safety with the business mission and culture of large, global corporations.
Prior to joining Kroll, Christopher served in roles of increasing responsibility with a Fortune 300 distributor of healthcare products and services. In his ultimate role as Vice President, Global Security & Safety, Christopher oversaw a robust, comprehensive, and multifaceted program for the firm’s presence in 27 countries during a time of exponential growth. He has particular expertise in handling all aspects of physical security and technology; budgeting, security services, and planning; emergency preparedness and crisis management; executive protection; and global investigations.
Developed and managed worldwide crisis management, business continuity plans, and emergency guidelines; set up executive protection and travel risk programs; and collaborated with Human Resources and Legal teams on workplace violence training and pre-employment screening.
Emergency Preparedness and Response
Wrote and implemented formal emergency response plans, creating protocols for medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire, natural disasters, hazardous material release, power or information systems outages, robbery, and workplace violence. Implemented formal training programs and tabletop exercises for maximum comprehension and effectiveness. Developed and enacted single topic refresher training program for Security personnel pertaining to low-frequency/high-impact events to better ensure their effective response to emergency situations.
Participated in a senior-level task force to create a formal crisis management plan. Created training/tabletop exercises to build and maintain a nimble, task-oriented, cross-functional team with clearly defined roles.
