Aida I. Marcial is a Senior Director with Kroll’s Investigations and Disputes practice, based in Philadelphia. Aida has impressive experience in global investigations, security risk management, labor/supply chain risk management, anti-money laundering, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption compliance. In particular, over the course of a 27-year career, she has been a preeminent authority in human rights matters, specifically, human trafficking, modern slavery, child abuse and exploitation.
At Kroll, Aida primarily focuses on investigating a wide range of cases, including workplace sexual harassment, institutional child abuse, and human trafficking matters. She has also provided policy and best practice recommendations in some of these areas for Kroll clients. Additionally, Aida is involved in witness protection and security assignments regarding potential threats to clients and their families. Aida also supports Kroll’s Compliance practice, where she focuses on delivering an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to addressing our clients’ third party and supply chain risks.
Aida joined Kroll in 2014 as a Managing Consultant. During this time, she was Founder and President of Global Justice Investigations, LLC, an international and domestic investigations and security risk mitigation consulting business focused on human trafficking, child abuse and exploitation, supply labor chain, land grabbing, global security and risk matters. Before founding her firm, Aida served as an Investigation and Security Operational Advisor for International Justice Mission (IJM) in Washington, D.C.
Over the years, Aida has led covert and overt global investigative and security teams in Central and South America, Africa, and Asia – uncovering human rights abuses, rescuing victims and arresting perpetrators.
She is a retired Commander of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, New Jersey, where she worked from 1989 until 2011. During that time, she investigated and supervised numerous homicides, child abuse, sexual abuse, narcotics, prostitution, kidnappings, missing persons, harassment, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC), insurance fraud, and domestic violence-related cases.
Aida has a unique understanding of the global and border complexities of child abuse and human trafficking matters related to terrorism, homicides, bribery, corruption, and money laundering. Aida has been an invited instructor for a wide range of government, law enforcement, NGO’s, private and public sectors - on how to identify and develop directives, protection policies, protocols, and best practices concerning sexual abuse and human trafficking matters. She has advised members of the U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress and U.S. military, INTERPOL, various U.S. Federal, State, local law enforcement agencies, National governments and police departments on these matters. In addition to testifying as an expert in her field, Aida has received many awards and international recognition for her work and has been a speaker at various law enforcement, U.S. military, healthcare, university, NGO and private venues.
