Cyber Security: Who is accountable for what?

With the wave of big breaches, comes executive finger pointing and termination of key roles, such as CEO, board members and CISOs – but who is ultimately responsible for the cyber risk management of an organization? The answer is everyone, but still there is a common disconnect cross functionally, when it comes to decisions and priorities that affect the company’s overall security posture.

This exclusive breakfast discussion will explore the many ways in which the real, pragmatic work of protecting an enterprise from cyber criminals is distributed among a dozen or more key roles throughout the organization. From the CEO to the CIO, of course; but also human resources, finance, compliance, business unit heads and general counsel – to name a few. We’ll explore the common disconnects that occur across these job functions, and discuss best practices for unifying them all into a cyber team that can most effectively defend your enterprise.

We’ll also discuss the tough cyber regulatory changes now underway that are surfacing difficult questions for companies globally, including the risk of material fines anticipated by the EU’s GDPR. Not only does preparing for GDPR require careful planning and smart investment, but it also means IT, security and business leaders must form a tightly aligned team.
